This is the post I didn't want to have to make, but last night at roughly 10:30pm Naya our Cocker Spaniel lost her fight for life. She went down hill rapidly and we had to call in the vet.

The vet was very nice, he came from our local practice and was the one who had been seeing us all through this. So it was nice of him to take the time to see her through to be one of the bridge kids, as the cocker people call it.

She went too young but the time we had with her was wonderful. She was an original and we'll never find another dog with her temperament. Those of you who knew will understand.

Well, I'm going to go before I get too maudlin, but would like to thanks all those who sent their prayers and best wishes, either through this page or by e-mail or phone.

Thanks again everyone.

It's been ages since I used this thing but I think I really need it right now.

As some of you may know my/my sister's cocker spaniel Naya is gravely ill and it may even yet prove fatal.

On Saturday she was fine, running about like her usual daft self. On Saturday during the night and early hours of Sunday morning she vomited 3 times.

She's done this before so we weren't too worried. Those of you with pets, particularly dogs, will know that this can be a common hazzard.

Sunday she didn't seem altogether her normal self but we thought this was due to the vomiting. She went her walk as usual, though she wasn't as active. She didn't really eat her breakfast more just picked at it and then went and lay down in my sister's room.

In the afternoon she was sick once more and this time a little bone came up with it. We thought our problems had been solved, she'd obviously eaten something when we had her out on Friday and this was just it coming back on her but no.

Sunday night saw us with the same problems as the night before and Monday morning she wouldn't eat or go her walk. All she wanted to do was lay on my sister's bed. As soon as the vet opened we made an appointment and took her down about two hours later.

The vet wasn't too happy with the look of her or the fact that she seemed to have a persistent hacking cough, which we later found out is actually a dog retching. He took blood and told us to bring her back the next morning.

Monday evening we finally managed to get Naya to eat a little egg but she still wasn't her usual self. So fearfully we went to the vet the next morning. I should probably mention that 11 years ago I lost a cocker in similar situations so you can understand why my sister and I were already frightened.

It was a different vet but the man we had seen the day before had briefed her on what was going on and looking at the tests she decided it would be better to take Naya into the surgery and put her on a drip because she was becoming increacingly dehydrated. As we knew this was just a subsidiary branch and that she would be transferred at night to the main one my sister and I took her straight over there.

Tuesday morning we phoned and there wasn't any real change but we made arrangements to go up and see her. She looked happy to see us, sitting up as soon as she heard our voice but she was still very lethargic and hadn't managed to keep down the little food they had given her. The vet was concerned and said we should give her another twenty four hours.

Wednesday was no better although she had eaten a little chicken that we'd taken up for her and while we were visiting she ate some more and actually tried to get to us from within the kennel.

This morning we called and were told that her creatin was down to 500 from the 700 it had been yesterday though it should be at 160 max they're wanting it to get down to 250 before they'll even think there is a chance of her improving. Her urea is sooo high their machines can't read it!

Now they are saying that this twenty four hours are the crossroads, although when they let us take her out for a five minute walk she was hurrying toward the car park to go home and actually tried to chase something!

Now we just live from day to day trying to think of something we can do to help her. We've even e-mailed the Vet Hospital just in case there is anything experimental they could try on her.

I'm hoping to keep this up to date more and post more positive news about Naya, so anyone reading this keep your fingers crossed and pray to which ever deity you pray to.

Thanks for listening

I get a brainwave on how to finish three of my stories and start a fourth. Of course I couldn't do anything about it because I couldn't even sit up never mind make it to the computer or write it out long hand so I just lay there and thought about it.

Today I can get on the computer, I can type, I can write, can I think of all the brilliant ideas that were running through my mind laying in bed? Don't be stupid. They've all vanished in a blooming pipe dream.

So I think the title for this little rant just about sums up my week this week.

Going to watch Law and Order now and then Criminal Minds so Goodnight all from this complaining end of the world LOL

This has been a terrible six weeks. I spent most of May not being able to sit at the keyboard because of migraines or because the arthritis in my spine decided to flare up and hit my tail bone, whoopi!

Then just as things start to settle down my big sister Helen, who has Rheumatoid Arthritis and has had her right hip replaced three times, bends over to pick a weed up off the garden path and dislocates her hip.

Usually, other than the pain, this doesn't cause a lot of bother. She's done this twice before and been in hospital over night. They take her to theatre knock her out, put the hip back in and she's home in the morning.

Not this time though! They found that first they couldn't get an theatre that night, so when they went to do it they realised Helen was anaemic. She been told this for the last six weeks by doctor and RH clinic but no one had done anything about it. Hospital surgeon says it's Pernicious Anaemia and she has to have blood before she can get hip fixed. That takes twelve hours. So Friday now, Helen dislocated her hip on Wednesday afternoon, they finally take her to theatre and thankfully everything goes brilliantly.

One problem, surgeon doesn't do rounds on Fri - Mon so she's stuck in hospital waiting on doctors okay to get home.

Finally after five days she gets home and now I'm going to try and catch up on God knows how many e-mails from my sibs at Sylum.

Okay moan over going now. Still can't get myself into a regular routine for writing in this damn thing but miracles might happen! LOL

So I should really update this thing. I'm watching my sis, Helen, juggling our youngest cat and it would even make the Mona Lisa laugh!

My brother and his friend are fixing our garden shed so non of our animals can go into the kitchen. The two dogs, K'Ehlyer and Naya, would just stand and bark at all the loud noises and our four cats, Khitomer; the oldest, Dax; the thickest, Kes; the shy retiring type and Zulaya; the youngest and Houdini, might get out the window we have open to let an electrical cord out.

You see our four cats are house cats. Kes our 8yr girl loves this fact, Dax our 9yr old boy would walk up to a barking dog and let it eat him; yes he really is that thick. Zulaya who's just coming up for two, is into everything and cute at it.

She's been in the washing machine, the microwave, the tumble dryer and the bin! Thankfully none of the electrics were on at the time but being wakened up at three in the morning by the rattling of the kitchen bin because she can't get out can get rather annoying.

She also tends to wrap herself around your neck like a fire lizard, Pern readers will know what I'm talking about.

Any way, I'm going to go and try and think about the 100 drabble challenge I signed up for. Maybe a dose of Picket Fences will clear my mind enough to start thinking of Warrick/Grissom.

Anyone who knows me well will understand my method cause they also know my madness! The only way I could think to do it was to post a comment. Don't know if that's exactly how your supposed to do it or not? Oh well, will just have to wait and see.

Was wanting to tape for White tonight but don't look like I'm going to manage it. *Pouts* It's not as if we're both not going to be buying the things when they both come out but it would be nice to see them sooner. However, looks like the weather has decided against me, cause it's raining buckets and my equipment don't work when it's raining so that's that!

Had another crappy day today. My vision has only just started to sort itself out after being blurry all day and every time I stand up I fall over or list to one side. It must be hilarious to anyone watching me but not that good to experience.

On top of everything else it looks like some pillock tried to break our front room window and Saturday night/Sunday morning and although someone came to day and secured the thing they won't be here till April 20th to fix it!!!!! It's great to have a wonderful older sister who ensures I get my weekly fixes and helps me taping them too. That way I never miss out.

Managed to remember to tape two episode for my listsib White Wolf so my memory seems to be improving slightly. So far I've managed two pages which has set Dwayne Thibideaux on his way to Sylum Manor as for the rest of it... I'm stuck at the moment. Seem to have hit the dreaded writers block.
Don't know why but I've just suddenly got really sad. I've been good this week keeping my feelings inside cause I don't want to upset my sister.

I know why I get like this but it doesn't help. You see this time of year was my parents favourite and since they died I always find it hard to get all worked up and happy about things.

It may seem silly I mean my mum died in April '91 and my dad in January '92 so you'd think I would be used to it by now but no, every year at some point during the festivities it creeps up on me and starts me weeping all over again.

Feeling really childish now, everyone always says that time heals all wounds and to an extent it does but just every once in a while all the old hurts and pain of missing them floors me all over again and I get all weepy

Okay going to go now before I start being really stupid.
Why is it every time I settle down to read a great slash story from Sylum my youngest cat, who is little more than a kitten, starts getting up to mischief?

Normally I wouldn't bother but she keeps climbing up on the shelf where I have all my elephants displayed and if she breaks one I'll go mad!!

Another rant is over Christmas! I ordered my GF some DVDs from an on line site, as did my sister for my Christmas from same site, only to find out they've been taken over by someone else and don't know when they'll be able to send the DVDs!

As if that isn't bad enough they're still taking orders for the very DVDs they don't have! What the HELL is going on!

Okay calming down now, going back to read the brill Mag 7 story that Raicara wrote, but first where is that damn kitten? *mutter mutter mutter* LOL

I'm so grateful for Spell checkers or no one would ever understand what I write! <g>

Wow I didn't realise it'd been so long since I wrote anything in here, but then I guess illness does that to you huh?

Finally seeming to be getting some steam back, although the doc still says the Fibromyalgia, M.E. and arthritis are still in flare up. At least now I can stay up for more than four or five hours a day now!

I actually managed to finish the third part of my Warrick/Gissom for the list, I only started it six months ago! To think I used to write about 15 pages a night and it took me 6 months to do 3!!!!! Well, maybe I'll improve quickly

Going now, it's past my bedtime if I want to get up before noon tomorroW LOL

Talk to you all sooner rather than later I hope *G*
